VML Solidarity Bib Regulations 2026
VML Solidarity Bib is a charitable initiative by the Vaincre les Maladies Lysosomales (VML) association, in partnership with the Chamonix Sports Club, offering 55 participants the chance to earn their race bib by raising donations.
Our specific procedure allows you to reserve your bib and mobilize your network to validate your solidarity donation.
Who are we? Lysosomal storage disorders are 60 rare genetic diseases with severe multiple disabilities, affecting nearly 3,000 children and adults in France. Since 1990, our association has supported patients and families affected by these diseases in their daily lives and contributes to international research funding thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners.
Joining this program must be done with the motivation to secure your bib and to maximize donations and generosity.
Procedure
1. Pre-registration for Your Bib
Pre-registration is done online, within our quota limit, at www.vml-asso.org.
Upon registration, VML commits to reserving a bib for you, subject to validation.
A €20 donation is required at registration to reduce abusive or unmotivated sign-ups.
2. Bib Validation – Your Solidarity Contribution
Your solidarity bib is validated once your mandatory contribution is reached, either through direct payment or a personalized fundraising campaign.
The minimum required amounts are :
€400 for the 23KM,
€600 for the 90KM and Duo-Etoilé,
€700 for the 42KM.
The minimum donation must be collected by February 15, 2026.
VML will offer you either a direct payment option for your contribution or an online fundraising page to rally your supporters (family, friends, networks, companies, etc.).
3. Final Race Registration
Once your bib is validated, you will receive a personal link to complete your registration on the Marathon website. This must be done before April 1, 2026.
Your registration is subject to compliance with the Mont-Blanc Marathon regulations and the validation of your medical certificate. Your bib will be free, but a carbon offset fee for your travel will be required.
Eco-Responsible Event : For several years, the Mont-Blanc Marathon has been committed to reducing its ecological impact (waste, pollution). We strongly encourage all runners to use low-carbon transportation, minimizing air travel and preferring public transport to reach Chamonix and move around the valley during the event.
Cancellation of Participation in the Program
– If you need to withdraw from the program (due to injury, unforeseen circumstances, lack of motivation to fundraise, etc.), please inform us as soon as possible so that the bib can be offered to a new participant.
Each bib represents support for VML’s missions, and we cannot afford to lose its benefit. Your pre-registration and ongoing fundraising can be transferred to a person of your choice. Otherwise, we will make it available again on the platform.
– Fundraising Not Validated by 02/15/2026 ? If your fundraising has not reached the minimum by 02/15/2026, VML may, depending on progress, grant an extension or reallocate the bib after notifying you.
For tax and regulatory reasons related to donations, no donations received can be refunded. Experience shows they will not hold it against you.
VML reserves the right to cancel, without refund, the pre-registration of a participant who has not activated their fundraising and does not respond to our email or phone follow-ups.

Personalized Fundraising to Validate Your Bib?
VML offers Solidarity Runners the opportunity to validate their contributions by mobilizing their supporters (family, friends, networks, companies) with several goals:
– Facilitate access to solidarity bibs by allowing time to reach the target amount,
– Encourage exceeding minimum goals by proposing unlimited fundraising and aiming higher,
– Raise awareness of our cause, as your communication will introduce our diseases and mission to your networks.
Over 500 runners have successfully supported us this way since 2013.
Your Online Donation Page – Your 2026 Solidarity Challenge
We will provide you with an online fundraising page.
Since our fundraising platform is in French, this may be limiting for your donors. We can use another tool or a campaign with a PayPal link.
A generic text will be suggested, but we encourage you to personalize it (text, photo) to inspire your network to donate by presenting it as your 2026 solidarity challenge.
We will share tips and advice to help you succeed in this campaign. Fundraising from your network may seem difficult at first, but if you believe in the cause, show motivation, and follow our advice, you will reach your goal.
Donations are secure, 100% of funds go to the association, and your supporters automatically receive their tax receipt.
You will have access to your fundraising page to edit it and receive real-time alerts for all donations made.
Group/Couple Fundraising Page : If you have reserved multiple bibs, you can choose between individual fundraising pages or a group fundraiser.
My Company Wants to Donate ? Companies can contribute to your fundraising either directly on your page (they will automatically receive a receipt) or through other payment methods (contact us!).
Tax Deduction and Tax Receipt : Only for donors subject to French taxes can benefit from a tax deduction: 66% of the donation for individuals and 60% for companies.
For international participants, since our page is in French, we can propose an alternative payment solution.
